Swedish climate and human rights activist Greta Thunberg visited Reporting House on July 28, 2025, as part of her two-day visit to Kosovo.<\/p>\n

Thunberg met with activists from youth organisations in Kosovo and spent two hours at the museum learning more about the history of activism and civic protests in Kosovo during the 1990s.<\/p>\n

She was welcomed by the museum\u2019s producer, Jeta Xharra, and curator, Gazmend Ejupi, who, together with young artist Vullnet Jakupi, discussed the contemporary artworks exhibited at Reporting House that explore themes of activism. Among them was Jakupi\u2019s work addressing Kosovo\u2019s \u201chome schools\u201d, the parallel education system established during the 1990s.<\/p>\n

Thunberg also visited the Reporting House Gallery, where Fragments of Survival<\/em>, an exhibition by 18-year-old artist Hussein al-Jerjawi from Gaza, was on display.<\/p>\n

During her visit, Thunberg expressed particular interest in how Kosovo\u2019s political sphere and wider society have responded to the situation in Gaza.<\/p>\n

Accompanied by young activists from Kosovo, she also expressed her gratitude for the generosity and hospitality of the people she had met during her stay.<\/p>\n

Reporting House producer Jeta Xharra said she had been following Thunberg\u2019s activism for a long time.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has succeeded in becoming a voice for the future and has very effectively drawn the world\u2019s attention to the environmental crisis,\u201d Xharra said.<\/p>\n

Xharra also highlighted Thunberg\u2019s activism in response to the injustices taking place in Gaza, describing it as a privilege to have the opportunity to share with her the history of the injustices experienced in Kosovo during the 1990s.<\/p>\n

Reporting House opened on June 10, 2024, in Prishtina\u2019s former G\u00ebrmia department store. The museum documents and presents the extensive work of local and international journalists who reported on the war in Kosovo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
