Dua Lipa, the internationally renowned singer who performed a more than two-hour set at the Sunny Hill Festival, visited Reporting House shortly before midnight on Monday, August 4, 2025.<\/p>\n

She was accompanied by her father and Sunny Hill Festival founder Dukagjin Lipa, her fianc\u00e9, actor Callum Turner, her brother Gjin Lipa, and others.<\/p>\n

The group was welcomed by Reporting House producer Jeta Xharra, museum curator Gazmend Ejupi, journalist Donika Shahini, as well as museum staff and volunteers.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have done a wonderful job telling the story of Kosovo through this museum,\u201d Dua Lipa said during the visit.<\/p>\n

Dukagjin Lipa thanked the museum for remaining open beyond its regular hours and said the visit reflected the family\u2019s respect for the work that had gone into creating Reporting House.<\/p>\n

Callum Turner showed particular interest in archival footage of British paratroopers who arrived in Kosovo during the first days of NATO\u2019s deployment and were filmed surveying areas of Prishtina for landmines. Meanwhile, Dua Lipa pointed out familiar neighbourhoods of the city visible in BBC footage filmed in 1999.<\/p>\n

Journalist Donika Shahini, who preserved a notebook belonging to the Jashari children, said she was struck by the interest, curiosity and modesty with which Lipa listened to the story of the notebook and how it had been saved from the Jashari family home.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt made me very happy that someone like her, who had been so deeply involved in the festival and in her own concert, which I attended and greatly enjoyed, still found the time to visit the museum and take an interest in our work,\u201d Shahini said.<\/p>\n

Jeta Xharra, co-founder of Reporting House, said the museum had seen an influx of visitors who had travelled to Kosovo for the Sunny Hill Festival.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis gave us the opportunity to tell the story of Kosovo to people who might otherwise never have come here,\u201d Xharra said.<\/p>\n

She added that, beyond the professionalism shown by the Republika team in organising Sunny Hill, the wider impact of the Lipa family\u2019s work had been especially significant for Kosovo.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have done us a great service by promoting a modern Kosovo, and a young generation that feels comfortable in its own skin and with its own history,\u201d Xharra said. \u201cWhat was particularly striking to me was that, after all the exhaustion of the festival, the family still found time to engage with Kosovo\u2019s history just a few hours before Dua had to leave for her next flight. It reflects an extraordinary commitment to doing something meaningful not only for themselves, but for Kosovo.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the visit, Lipa and her family also toured the Reporting House Gallery, where Fragments of Survival<\/em>, an exhibition by 18-year-old artist Hussein al-Jerjawi from Gaza, was on display.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
