In this episode of #KallxoPërnime, Bajram Çerkini, a representative of the families of missing persons; Ibrahim Makolli from Kosovo’s Delegation for Missing Persons; Arsim Gërxhaliu from the Institute of Forensic Medicine; and Mustafë Shala, the son of a person who went missing during the war, share their perspectives. Drawing on their experiences and long-standing engagement, they address one of the most painful legacies of the post-war period in Kosovo, the fate of those who were forcibly disappeared.
Their testimonies and analyses shed light on efforts to determine the fate of the victims, the challenges involved in identifying and locating human remains, and the importance of justice and truth for families who continue to await answers. As activists, officials, and experts directly involved in this process, they offer their perspectives on institutional efforts, the obstacles that continue to hinder progress, and the need to continue the search until the fate of every missing person has been established.
