Zoran Raskoviq, former member of Serbian paramilitary units who testified about war crimes committed in Qyshk, Zahaq, Pavlan, and Lubeniq.

In this interview, Zoran Rashkoviq, a former member of the Serbian paramilitary unit known as the “Jackals”, breaks his silence and speaks publicly for the first time about crimes committed by his unit in the villages of Qyshk, Zahaq, Pavlan, and Lubeniq, in the Peja region, during the spring of 1999. He describes how the operations were organised, the expulsion of the civilian population, the looting and burning of homes, and the executions of Albanian civilians, providing testimony about one of the darkest chapters of the war in Kosovo.

Rashkoviq also speaks about his decision to testify before the War Crimes Court in Belgrade against his former comrades-in-arms, explaining what led him to cooperate with the justice system after many years of silence. He recounts the personal consequences of that decision, including the threats he received following his testimony, and expresses his conviction that only by acknowledging the truth and documenting the crimes can justice be advanced and historical memory preserved. His testimony became one of the most important pieces of evidence in the judicial proceedings concerning the crimes committed in Qyshk, Zahaq, Pavlan, and Lubeniq.
